ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY

VISITATION POLICY

(In accordance with SB 988 – No Patient Left Alone Act)

Effective Date: April 6, 2022

Elite Garden LLC Assisted Living permits in-person visitation in all of the following circumstances, unless the resident, client, or patient objects:

• End-of-life situations.

• A resident, client, or patient who previously lived with family and is struggling with the change in environment or lack of in-person family support.

• A resident, client, or patient who is making one or more major medical decisions.

• A resident, client, or patient experiencing emotional distress or grieving the recent loss of a friend or family member.

• A resident, client, or patient who needs cueing or encouragement to eat or drink, which was previously provided by a family member or caregiver.

• A resident, client, or patient who previously engaged socially but is now seldom speaking or interacting with others.

Each resident, client, or patient has the right to designate a visitor—such as a family member, friend, guardian, or other individual—as an essential caregiver. The facility will allow in-person visitation by the essential caregiver for at least two (2) hours daily, in addition to any other visitation authorized by the provider.

Visitation hours at Elite Garden LLC Assisted Living are from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily.

However, visitation hours may be extended as needed based on a resident’s condition or special circumstances.

For the safety of our residents and staff, visitors are requested to wear a face mask upon entry and complete a health screening, which includes temperature checks and brief questions about recent exposure to illness during the sign-in process.

During private visits in a resident’s room, masks are optional.

We encourage family and loved ones to visit frequently.

The facility allows physical and consensual contact. The administrator or designated staff will ensure that all employees adhere to this policy and related procedures.
